- Click a suggestion to accept it, or press Fix all, then copy your text.

About writing in Bulgarian
Bulgarian spelling mostly follows pronunciation, with a few rules that trip writers up: prefixes written by meaning rather than sound, consonants that sound different at the end of a word, and the alternation of я and е. This is a spelling-only checker: it finds misspelled words with an open-source Bulgarian dictionary that runs in your browser, so your text is never uploaded.
4 common mistakes in Bulgarian
1. Prefix written by sound
Prefixes such as из-, раз- and без- keep their spelling even when they sound like ис-, рас- or бес-: изпит, разпределение.
❌ Утре имам испит.
✅ Утре имам изпит.
2. Spelling by pronunciation
Сватба is written with т, even though it is pronounced with д.
❌ Отиваме на свадба.
✅ Отиваме на сватба.
3. Я or е
The vowel я changes to е when the next syllable has a soft vowel: бял, but бели.
❌ Има много бяли къщи.
✅ Има много бели къщи.
4. Full or short article
The full article -ът marks the subject, the short -а the object. Both are real words, so a spell checker cannot catch this.
❌ Ученика дойде.
✅ Ученикът дойде.
Try it with a sample sentence
Paste this sentence into the checker above to see which words it flags:
❌ Утре имам испит, а после отивам на свадба.
✅ Утре имам изпит, а после отивам на сватба.
